Moving to Spain? You need a Removal to Spain service

By: helen

Moving home is exciting and stressful at the same time. Just think about all of the planning and thought that has to go into moving to a new home within the UK, there’s a lot right? Well now think about how much more you will have to think about when you are moving to a home abroad.

More and more of us Brits are swapping our lives here in the UK for a new life abroad with one of the most popular choices of destination being Spain. If you are planning to move abroad to Spain you need to ensure that you have thought through everything that you need to do before your move and after your move. Not only do you need to find a job and a house in Spain, you also need to sell your home back in the UK. This is just one of the many things you will have to take care of when it comes to moving to Spain. You also need to make sure you have your visa which allows you to gain entry to the country as a resident. You need to sort out your bank accounts and enlist the help of a removal company who are willing to ship all of your belonging over to Spain to you.

The above are not even a fraction of everything that you have to take care of when you are planning your move over to Spain. Due to this fact you need to make sure that you start planning your international move over to Spain at least a year before you plan to go, maybe longer.

You need to make sure that you have researched and planned your move so that nothing is left to chance. For example it is better to try and find a job in Spain before you get to Spain as unemployment in the country is above average so if you don’t speak Spanish you will struggle and some of you qualifications may not be recognisable in Spain. This is why it is important that your job offers you a contract so that you know your job offer is a secure one. Finding a job and accommodation are two aspects that should be high up on your list of priorities. Remember Spain has a large holiday industry based culture, meaning seasonal work is often popular but what are you going to do for money when the season is over? Again this emphasises the idea of gaining a contract of employment. Oh and don’t forget the siesta when working!

Spain is well known for its siesta, which is when establishments shut down between 2pm and 5pm so that people can sleep. The idea behind this is so that the hottest part of the day is avoided.

There are many reasons why people choose to move to Spain and other places abroad. One of the main reasons is for a job opportunity. Other popular reason is for retirement. Whatever your reason is for wanting to move abroad you need to make sure that you have thoroughly researched your move and got all of your paperwork and documentation sorted as well as your accommodation. I guess there’s nothing left to say other than good luck!
